Patna: The political temperature in Bihar is rising ahead of assembly elections expected to be announced next month, with Nitish Kumar’s party JD(U) launching a sharp attack on opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav.
JD(U)’s chief spokesperson Neeraj Kumar posted an acerbic critique on social media, “decoding” each letter of Tejashwi’s name to label him a troublemaker, escapist, arrogant, selfish, hypocrite, wasteful, and incompetent. He further described Yadav as “totally egotistic,” accusing him of lacking vision and relying on theatrics rather than real work.
Neeraj Kumar also criticised Tejashwi for allegedly insulting socialist icon Karpoori Thakur, arguing that adopting the title of Jananayak before Tejashwi’s name was an affront to Bihar’s political heritage. “Bihar needs work now. Drama will not work,” he said in a video statement.
The clash follows a series of bitter exchanges between the ruling coalition and opposition, including controversies over remarks made by the Kerala Congress on Biharis, which sparked widespread anger across the state.
With the election campaign intensifying, both NDA and INDIA bloc parties are escalating personal and ideological attacks, setting the stage for what is likely to be a fiercely contested poll season.
