Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today inaugurated 80 pink buses exclusively for women and rolled out an e-ticketing system across the state’s entire bus fleet, in a move aimed at enhancing safety and convenience for female commuters.
The second phase of the women-only bus service was flagged off from 01 Anne Marg in Patna, with the Chief Minister inspecting the buses and checking the onboard facilities before their departure. The initiative is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to promote women’s empowerment and ensure safer public transport.

“The operation of these 80 buses will make journeys for women safer and more comfortable, providing them with greater ease in commuting,” an official statement said.
Alongside the pink bus launch, e-ticketing was introduced in all 1,065 buses of the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation, marking a significant step towards modernising the state’s public transport system.
