Patna: The East Central Railway has confirmed the introduction of a new Vande Bharat Express service between Danapur and Jogbani, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to flag off the inaugural run on September 15 from Forbesganj.
According to the official notification, train no. 02631 Forbesganj–Danapur Vande Bharat Inaugural Special will depart Forbesganj at 3.30pm on Monday. Regular operations of the new service will commence from September 17, with train no. 26302 running from Danapur and train no. 26301 from Jogbani starting a day later.
The eight-coach semi-high-speed train will run six days a week — except Tuesdays from Danapur and Wednesdays from Jogbani. It will halt at key stations including Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Khagaria, Saharsa, Madhepura, Banmankhi, Purnia, Araria Court, and Forbesganj before terminating at Jogbani, the border town adjacent to Nepal.
The scheduled journey will take about 8 hours, with Danapur departures at 5.10pm and Jogbani departures at 11.30am. Officials have directed divisions to treat the service with priority equivalent to express trains, ensuring punctuality and coach maintenance.
Railway authorities said the new Vande Bharat would enhance connectivity for north Bihar and improve travel options for both business and leisure passengers.
