Muzaffarpur: A disturbing incident at a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Muzaffarpur has sparked outrage after a 6-year-old boy was allegedly tied with a rope and hung upside down from a pole in the school playground.
The incident took place on August 19 at around 5:15 pm at the Bal Vatika section of the school in Gannipur. The child’s mother, who is a teacher at the school and a resident of Rajasthan’s Sikar district, said she was teaching a class when a student alerted her that her son was hanging from the pole in the open gym area.
According to her complaint, the boy was rescued by a staff member, who also recorded the incident on a mobile phone. The child later told his mother that “a brother” had tied him up. She reported the matter to the school’s vice-principal, but no action was taken.
On August 22, the mother filed a written complaint at Kazi Mohammadpur police station. However, with no action from either the school or the police, she approached the court. A complaint was lodged on Wednesday in the court of Chief Justice Raj Kapoor, naming an unknown person as the accused.
In her statement, the teacher alleged that the school principal pressured her to suppress the incident and issued false statements to the media. She also claimed she had been threatened with consequences if she pursued the case further.
The court has admitted the complaint and scheduled it for hearing. The boy, who was left traumatised, continues to recover from the incident.
