Patna: Patna Women’s College launched its three-day Interdisciplinary Career Fair on Thursday with a session exploring career opportunities in the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The programme, held at the Mother Veronica Excellence and Innovation Centre in the college’s Science Block, was organised by the Department of Commerce in collaboration with the RBI.
Dr Soofia Fatima, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management and Head of the Department of Commerce, opened the event by welcoming RBI delegates and stressing the importance of inspiring students to pursue ambitious and meaningful career paths.

The session featured Priya Prakash, Assistant General Manager of RBI Patna, who outlined the central bank’s role, achievements and future roadmap. She emphasised the value of financial independence for women and encouraged students to consider banking and regulatory services as viable career options.
Liya Bakshi, Assistant Manager at RBI, spoke about the growing impact of digitalisation on financial transactions, while fellow Assistant Manager Dheeraj Kumar engaged students with a quiz on banking and financial awareness. Winners received prizes in recognition of their participation.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by students Sakshi Palak and Nancy Singh, who also moderated the discussion. Faculty members of the commerce department were in attendance.
The career fair, which continues over the next two days, will cover a wide range of professions, bridging the gap between academia and industry. Students from B.Com, BBA, Advertising and Marketing Management, and Economics programmes attended the opening day.
