Patna: A woman who was travelling without a ticket on a train from Siwan to Deoria in Bihar threatened a ticket examiner with violence before being released after paying a fine, according to railway authorities.
The woman, identified as Khushboo Mishra, reportedly a government school teacher posted in Siwan, allegedly misbehaved with the ticket checking staff and called her father and relatives to intervene when the train reached Deoria station. A video of the incident, which has gone viral in recent days, shows Mishra arguing with the train ticket examiner and threatening to behead him.
The altercation escalated when her relatives arrived at the station. The ticket examiner was reportedly manhandled and nearly pulled off the moving train, prompting outrage from the Indian Railway Ticket Checking Staff Organization (IRTCSO). The organisation criticised the police for not taking strict action against Mishra and her relatives.

In response to the viral footage, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) confirmed that Mishra was travelling in an AC coach without a valid ticket. A memo was issued, and she was fined 990 rupees before being allowed to leave. The RPF said the incident occurred on the Ranchi-Gorakhpur Express (train number 18629).
The IRTCSO has questioned why the relatives, who allegedly obstructed railway operations and misbehaved with staff in the presence of police, were not subjected to legal action. The Ambala Division unit of the organisation called for stricter enforcement, asking why passengers causing such disturbances were not presented before a magistrate.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media. Many users have criticised Mishra’s behaviour, highlighting the risk posed to railway staff, while others have praised the ticket examiner for recording the argument, which helped document the misconduct.
