Patna/New Delhi: After three days of intense, high-stakes consultations spanning from the party headquarters in Delhi to the state unit in Patna, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has reportedly finalized its panel of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections. The conclusion of these marathon meetings sets the stage for the formal announcement, which has kept the political landscape in Bihar on edge.
The secrecy surrounding the crucial seat-sharing and candidate selection process was partially lifted late Wednesday evening by BJP State President Dilip Jaiswal. Speaking to a throng of expectant media personnel outside the state office, Jaiswal confirmed that the party has successfully completed the candidate selection task.
“We have accomplished the task quite easily in the three-day meeting, fulfilling the responsibility entrusted to us by the top leadership,” Jaiswal stated.
He further revealed that candidates have been finalized not only for the seats the party successfully won in the last assembly elections but also for constituencies where the party was defeated. This move suggests a comprehensive strategy to strengthen the party’s position across the state.
Jaiswal confirmed that the final, complete list of names has been sealed and is ready to be dispatched to the central leadership in New Delhi. The official announcement of the candidates and the formalization of seat-sharing with allies will now rest with the party’s top brass.
“Now we are going to Delhi with the names of that panel, where the names will be announced,” he concluded.
With the names now essentially “sealed in envelopes,” political observers and competing parties are keenly awaiting the final list. The timing of the announcement by the BJP’s central command remains the critical variable in the state’s unfolding political drama.
