Patna: Union Home Minister Amit Shah continued his three-day visit to Bihar on Saturday, meeting political leaders and addressing party workers ahead of the assembly elections. Early in the day, he met Lok Janshakti Party leader Chirag Paswan at Hotel Maurya in Patna. Chirag said the discussion focused on the election campaign and raised concerns about confusion within the Grand Alliance. Shah will also meet BJP district and block-level leaders to discuss election strategies and review preparations for the nomination campaign and coordination with allies. Later in the evening, he is expected to leave Patna for Delhi after several meetings.
Earlier, Shah attended an intellectuals’ conference at Gyan Bhavan, where he criticised the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leadership. He warned that Lalu Prasad Yadav wanted to bring back “Jungle Raj” with a new face, saying this must be stopped. Shah praised the achievements of the Nitish-Modi government, highlighting improvements in power supply, road connectivity, airports, AIIMS Darbhanga, the Barauni refinery, and bridges over the Ganges. He said Bihar had entered a phase of development, calling it Bihar 3.0, and stressed the need to focus on industrial growth and employment generation.
Shah also participated in the nomination of BJP candidates in Chapra, addressing the gathering and encouraging voters to support the NDA openly and without fear. He questioned RJD’s ticket distribution, including giving a ticket to the son of jailed politician Shahabuddin, and said only the NDA could ensure safety and development in Bihar. He criticised previous governments for creating fear among citizens and for failing to deal with terrorists effectively, pointing to his government’s actions to restore law and order.
In addition to these events, Shah met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at the CM House for around 15 minutes. According to JDU officials, the discussion focused on how election meetings should be conducted and overall campaign strategies. Shah reiterated his message to the people of Bihar, urging them to vote for the NDA to continue development and avoid returning to the chaos of past administrations. The BJP’s campaign in Bihar is now in full swing, with a clear focus on highlighting achievements and contrasting them with the RJD’s record.
