Patna: Celebrating the unprecedented success of Kantara: Chapter 1, actor and filmmaker Rishab Shetty visited the historic Mundeshwari Temple in Bihar — believed to be the oldest functional temple in the world. The Kannada star performed rituals and offered prayers in gratitude for the film’s phenomenal box office run.
Videos shared on social media show Shetty dressed in a white shirt and veshti, performing the aarti and participating in rituals conducted by temple priests. He also offered abhishek to Goddess Mundeshwari and spent time meditating at the sacred site, which is located in Kaimur district, around 200 km from Patna.
“It was a deeply spiritual experience,” Shetty said in a brief statement, expressing his reverence for the ancient temple’s cultural and spiritual legacy.
Directed by Rishab Shetty, Kantara: Chapter 1 has emerged as one of the biggest hits in the Kannada film industry. According to trade reports, the film has collected Rs. 493.75 crore in India and over Rs. 600 crore globally, receiving immense praise from both critics and audiences.
