Chhapra: In the run-up to the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections, the Saran District Administration has intensified its vigilance to ensure strict adherence to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). As part of these efforts, the District Education Officer has suspended three teachers with immediate effect and initiated departmental action against them for engaging in political activities. FIRs have also been registered against all three for violating the MCC.

According to officials, the first case involves Priyanka Kumari, a teacher at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Chhapra. An inquiry found that she participated in a media program titled “Who Will Be the Chief Minister”, during which she expressed political opinions — a clear violation of the MCC. Government employees are prohibited from taking part in political events or expressing support for any candidate or party.

The second case pertains to Surendra Kumar Singh, Principal of Madhya Vidyalaya Ratanpura, Chhapra Sadar. The investigation revealed that he also took part in the same media program and engaged in political discussions with representatives of various parties. Following the findings, an FIR was lodged against him, and he has been suspended with immediate effect.

In the third case, Chandramohan Kumar Singh, a Panchayat teacher at the newly established Primary School in Dhenukki, Deoria, Jalalpur, was found to have used social media to appeal for votes in favor of a particular candidate. The administration treated this as an attempt to unduly influence the election process. Consequently, an FIR has been filed, and the District Education Officer has directed the Block Development Officer, Jalalpur, and the Panchayat Secretary, Deoria Jalalpur, to ensure his suspension and initiate departmental proceedings.

District officials stated that such actions are part of ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity of the election process and ensure that government employees remain politically neutral. The administration has reiterated that any violation of the Model Code of Conduct will be dealt with strictly in accordance with law.

  • Nitish Kumar met Samrat Choudhary at the CM residence in Patna, marking their first in-person interaction after the leadership change. The brief 20-minute meeting focused on Bihar’s political climate and administrative matters, with senior leaders also present, signaling coordinated discussions within the government.

Photos from the meeting showed a cordial atmosphere, including a moment where Kumar placed his hand on Choudhary’s shoulder—described as a gesture of guidance. The interaction has drawn attention amid ongoing political developments in the state.

The liquor prohibition policy remained a key topic, with Choudhary reaffirming its strict enforcement and linking it to Kumar’s legacy, while also citing support from Narendra Modi. However, voices like Anant Singh continue to question its effectiveness, keeping the debate alive even as the government signals no immediate change.

  • The Bihar government is set to roll out an Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS), bringing AI-powered surveillance and automation to roads across the state. From highways to city intersections, smart cameras will detect violations like overspeeding, red-light jumping, and not wearing helmets or seatbelts—making enforcement faster and more efficient.

Beyond traffic control, the system will use facial recognition to identify repeat offenders and assist police in tracking suspects. With 500–700 locations planned and a central control hub supported by district-level monitoring centres, authorities aim to strengthen both road safety and law enforcement.

With an estimated cost of ₹300 crore, the project will also feature real-time incident alerts and adaptive traffic signals to reduce congestion. While it promises smarter roads and quicker response times, it also raises important questions about privacy and data security.

  • WhatsApp is working on a powerful new feature called “After Reading” that could completely change how we message. With this update, users will be able to make messages disappear automatically after they’ve been seen, giving more control over privacy and conversations.

Unlike current disappearing messages, this feature focuses on when the message is actually read. Users may get options like 5 minutes, 1 hour, or even 12 hours after viewing—making it easier to manage sensitive chats and keep things temporary.

Though still in development, this update signals a big step toward smarter and safer messaging. If rolled out successfully, it could redefine how we share information online.
