Patna: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Wednesday expelled nine leaders, including sitting MLA Fateh Bahadur, from the party’s primary membership for six years on charges of indiscipline and anti-party activities.
Announcing the decision, RJD state president Manganilal Mandal said the leaders had been expelled for contesting elections against official party candidates and for behaviour “inconsistent with party discipline.”
Among those expelled are former MLA Pappu Khan, Riazul Haq Raju, State Vice-President Satish Kumar, State General Secretary Amod Kumar Mandal, State Women’s Cell General Secretary Jipsa Anand, and active members Virendra Kumar Sharma and Rajiv Ranjan alias Pinku.
Mandal said, “The party cannot tolerate acts of rebellion and indiscipline during a crucial election. Those who defy the party’s official mandate have no place in the RJD.”
According to party insiders, several expelled leaders, including Fateh Bahadur and Pappu Khan, are contesting as independent or rival candidates in constituencies where the RJD has fielded others. The leadership’s swift action aims to send a clear message that defiance will not be tolerated.
