Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will not join Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s much-anticipated roadshow in Patna today— marking the second time this election season that the JD(U) leader has been absent from a major BJP-led campaign event.
While PM Modi is set to hold two public meetings followed by a grand evening roadshow through the heart of Patna, Nitish Kumar will spend the day addressing a series of rallies across Tarapur, Saheb Kamal, Maheshi Saharsa, and Alamnagar in Madhepura district. According to JD(U) MLC Sanjay Gandhi, who oversees the Chief Minister’s campaign schedule, Nitish will conclude the day’s engagements with an overnight stay in Madhepura.
Prime Minister Modi’s roadshow will begin at 5 p.m. from Dinkar Golambar, passing through Nala Road, Bari Path, Thakurbari Road, and Bakarganj before concluding at Udyog Bhawan near Gandhi Maidan. The district administration has closed the route to the public from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and deployed extensive security measures.
This is the second time Nitish Kumar has skipped PM Modi roadshow — the first being after Operation Sindoor earlier this year. During the Lok Sabha elections last year, the two leaders had shared a stage during a Patna roadshow on May 12. However, since then, the Chief Minister has opted to campaign separately.
