Nawada: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a large public rally in Nawada on Sunday, hit out at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress, accusing them of bringing back an era of “jungle raj” and dynastic corruption. He said the enthusiasm among the people of Bihar signalled that the NDA would return to power in the upcoming Assembly elections.
“The jungle raj people and the Congress fill their coffers by looting what is rightfully yours. I’m not saying this — even a Congress prime minister admitted that when one rupee leaves Delhi, only 15 paise reaches the poor,” PM Modi said, referring to the late Rajiv Gandhi’s remark on corruption in welfare schemes.
Recalling Bihar’s turbulent past, the Prime Minister said, “Jungle raj had left a stain of massacre on Nawada. Employees feared salary hikes because it meant paying more extortion money. Women were unsafe, schools were deserted, and over 37,000 kidnappings took place during that time.”
PM Modi accused the RJD and Congress of running politics based on family loyalty rather than public service, saying, “One is Bihar’s most corrupt family, and the other is India’s most corrupt family.” He mocked their internal tensions, suggesting that RJD’s ‘Jungle Raj prince’ and Congress’s ‘Shehzada’ were now in a political feud, fielding rival candidates in Bihar.
Praising Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Modi said, “Nitish ji pulled Bihar out of that dark era with great difficulty. Will you allow jungle raj and extortion to return?”
The Prime Minister concluded by appealing to voters to support the NDA, calling it a vote for stability, safety, and development in Bihar.
