Chief Minister Kumar has summoned all JD(U) legislators to Patna for a meeting on Monday, which is expected to discuss the swearing-in date for the new government and the allocation of ministerial portfolios. The outgoing cabinet will hold its final meeting on Monday, during which the dissolution of the current assembly is likely to be recommended and resignations submitted to the Governor. The new government is expected to be sworn in between November 18 and 20. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had pledged to attend the ceremony during an election rally, may be present alongside senior BJP leaders.
JD(U) National Executive President Sanjay Kumar Jha and Union Minister Lallan Singh travelled to Delhi on Saturday night, meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and other senior party figures.
Meanwhile, the opposition RJD is grappling with the consequences of its heavy defeat. Party leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav is expected to hold a review meeting at his official residence on Polo Road at 11 a.m. on Monday, convening all defeated candidates to assess the party’s poor performance.
Internal tensions within the Lalu Prasad family have also surfaced following the election. Rohini Acharya, Lalu Prasad’s daughter who recently donated a kidney to him, left her mother Rabri Devi’s residence on Saturday night, publicly criticising Tejashwi Yadav and his close aides Sanjay Yadav and Rameez.
