Patna: Patna Women’s College set a spirited tone for entrepreneurship today as the Entrepreneurship Club, under the Mother Veronica Excellence & Innovation Centre (MVEIC), organised a Students’ Orientation Programme at the Science Block, third floor. Beginning at 11am, the event drew an enthusiastic audience of students curious to learn how startups are reshaping professional choices and creating opportunities for innovation in Bihar. The programme provided a platform for young minds to understand how their creativity could evolve into meaningful ventures.
Mr Alok John, Director of MVEIC and Dean – National and International Collaborations & Consultancy Services (NICCS), delivered the welcome address and outlined the transformative vision of the institution. He emphasised that MVEIC is designed to nurture innovative thinking, problem-solving skills and entrepreneurial confidence among students. His message encouraged the participants to see beyond traditional employment and imagine themselves as future leaders capable of creating jobs and driving societal progress.
A major highlight of the event was the keynote session by Ms Jyoti Kumari, Assistant Director, Department of Industries, Government of Bihar, who spoke on “Igniting Young Minds Through Entrepreneurial Pathways.” She explained the fast-evolving startup ecosystem and the government’s supportive efforts, including incubation opportunities, innovation-enhancement schemes and financial assistance programmes. Her detailed insights opened students’ eyes to the possibilities available for young entrepreneurs willing to take their ideas forward.
The programme became even more interactive and inspiring with contributions from Startup Bihar officials, Mr Kunal Prakash and Mr Shivendra Kumar. They briefed students on mentoring avenues, funding support, incubation facilities and capacity-building initiatives that help early-stage dreamers turn aspirations into real growth opportunities. Their words encouraged the audience to believe that starting a business is not limited to established professionals—students too can become successful entrepreneurs with the right support.
Members of the Entrepreneurship Club participated with great interest, asking questions related to market challenges, investment opportunities and career choices. Many expressed that the event gave them clarity, motivation and a renewed sense of purpose. As the session concluded, students left the hall with ideas buzzing in their minds and a strong belief that they could contribute to Bihar’s innovation ecosystem.
The event reflected Patna Women’s College’s commitment to global learning values through the Sustainable Development Goals—Quality Education (SDG 4), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9) and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17). By hosting this programme, the college reinforced its mission to build a generation of confident, skilled and socially-responsible entrepreneurs prepared to lead India’s future.
