Patna: Candidates of the Bihar State Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) staged a renewed protest outside the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) headquarters in Patna on Thursday, accusing the authorities of ignoring their objections and delaying key announcements.
Around 20–25 candidates gathered at the main gate of the board office, chanting slogans and calling for the immediate release of a revised answer key, a clear and final notification, and grace marks for what they claim were several out-of-syllabus questions in the exam.
Protesters said the board had repeatedly extended deadlines without offering clarity. Jyoti, a commerce candidate, said 21 questions in the exam were outside the prescribed syllabus. “Our marks have been affected unfairly. The board keeps pushing dates, but there is no revised answer key and no official notification,” she said.
Students also allege that the current answer key contains multiple errors, which they fear could significantly impact thousands of candidates. Despite filing several objections, the group says their concerns have gone unanswered.
This week’s demonstration follows earlier protests on November 27, 28 and 29, during which candidates attempted to gherao the board office. Protesters say the lack of action has intensified their frustration.
Candidates arriving from various districts said they plan to escalate their agitation if the board does not act quickly. They insist the protest will continue until a corrected answer key is issued and a definite timeline for further notifications is made public.
The BSEB has not yet issued an official response, further heightening anxiety among the students.
