Patna: Bihar State Power Transmission Company Limited (BSPTCL) has won two national honours at the Powerline TransTech India Awards 2025, held on December 10 at the Yashobhoomi India International Convention and Expo Centre in Dwarka, New Delhi.
Rahul Kumar, Managing Director of BSPTCL, said the recognition reflected the team’s “hard work, dedication and technical excellence.” Strengthening the state’s power infrastructure and ensuring reliable electricity supply across Bihar, he added, remained the company’s top priority.
Awards for expansion of transmission capacity
BSPTCL received awards for the highest addition of transmission line length — 2,018 circuit kilometres of 220 kV and above — and for the highest addition of transformation capacity, totalling 5,260 MVA, also at 220 kV and above, over the past three years in the Eastern Region.

Officials said the company’s expansion efforts have significantly boosted Bihar’s power transmission capability, improving grid stability and enhancing supply reliability across districts.
Recognition for excellence in India’s power sector
The Powerline TransTech India Awards recognise excellence in the country’s transmission sector, with winners selected on the basis of data provided by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Power Finance Corporation (PFC) and state utilities. This year’s event, supported by the Ministry of Power, saw participation from more than 2,500 delegates.
BSPTCL’s dual win marks a major milestone in the development of Bihar’s transmission infrastructure and underscores the company’s commitment to delivering quality and uninterrupted electricity to the state.
