Patna: The Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP), in partnership with UNICEF and the School of Management Studies at the University of Hyderabad, convened the second day of the 5th International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility (ICCSR 2025) on Thursday, bringing together academics, researchers, civil society representatives, and development practitioners to examine emerging trends in community-led CSR practice.
Discussions through the morning centred on thematic research presentations exploring community engagement, inclusive growth, climate resiliency, and the integration of CSR with ESG frameworks. Speakers highlighted a clear shift in India’s CSR landscape—from short-term, activity-based interventions to long-term models grounded in sustained community participation and supported by strong monitoring and evaluation systems. Participants stressed that durable social and economic improvements require deeper collaboration between academia, corporations, and local institutions.
The afternoon sessions turned to grassroots perspectives, with NGOs from Bihar and neighbouring regions presenting field experiences and locally developed models. Organisations including Kaushalya Foundation, Integrated Development Foundation, PCI, Passion Powered by Professionalism (P3), ANK Foundation, Paritosh, Project Potentia, and Gram Swaraj described interventions spanning rural livelihoods, women’s empowerment, WASH systems, youth leadership, and community institution-building. Their presentations underlined how civil society initiatives continue to bridge last-mile gaps and complement both CSR interventions and public-sector development efforts.
The day concluded with the presentation of ICCSR 2025 awards, including the Best Paper Award and honours for Best CSR Practices. The recognitions celebrated both rigorous academic work and field-driven initiatives that demonstrate measurable, inclusive, and sustainable development outcomes.
