Patna: Bihar’s ambitious ‘Industry Dialogue’ initiative, launched last week under Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, continued to gain momentum on Thursday with 32 industry representatives meeting him to discuss new investment proposals and challenges. The session was held at the Directorate of Civil Aviation near Patna Airport from 11am to 1pm.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, officials announced that the next round of consultations will take place on Friday, December 19, instead of Thursday.
The initiative is designed to connect investors directly with senior officials, offering quicker resolution of bottlenecks and helping streamline industrial approvals. Officials said the strong turnout reflected renewed interest in Bihar as a manufacturing and services destination.
Investors push proposals aimed at boosting jobs and reversing migration
A significant number of participants were Bihari entrepreneurs keen to contribute to the state’s development, tackle migration and create employment. Many stressed that Bihar has abundant talent, and that a stronger industrial ecosystem could help retain skilled workers.
Key proposals discussed included investment in milk processing, a proposed Bihar Film City, electrical manufacturing units, furniture production, educational institutions, hospitals, leather goods export units and expansion of the sugarcane industry.

Among those presenting ideas were:
- Dr Bipin Kumar Jha, Savera Cancer and Multispecialty Hospital, who proposed investment in robotic surgery facilities.
- Siddharth Ladhani, Coca-Cola SLMG, who outlined plans for a new industrial project.
- Yashpal Sachar, Ashok Leyland Vice President, who proposed an electric bus manufacturing unit and a dedicated driving school for women, inspired by Bihar’s Pink Bus fleet.
Several investors also requested support in streamlining import–export processes.
‘A one-stop solution’ for investors
Welcoming participants, Chief Secretary Amrit said the dialogue would help the government work directly with serious investors and ensure that legitimate concerns were addressed promptly. He reiterated that the state was prepared to introduce new policies or amend existing ones to encourage investment.
Amrit reviewed individual cases of land requirements and administrative hurdles on the spot, directing departments to take immediate action where possible. In other cases, he sought detailed documentation to expedite follow-up.
Officials described the initiative as a step towards building a “one-stop solution” for businesses looking to invest in Bihar or facing obstacles in setting up units. The model, they said, reflects the state’s commitment to transparent, responsive and investor-friendly governance.

Multi-department participation signals priority status
The meeting was attended by Industries Secretary Kundan Kumar, Director Mukul Kumar Gupta, Energy Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and Sugarcane Commissioner Anil Kumar Jha — a sign of coordinated, multi-sectoral engagement.
The Industry Dialogue, officials said, strengthens the Chief Minister’s aim of placing Bihar prominently on India’s industrial map and attracting industries capable of generating large-scale employment.
