New Delhi: Jan Suraaj founder and prominent election strategist Prashant Kishor reportedly held a confidential meeting with Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi in Delhi, a move that has stirred speculation across political circles. Sources suggest the discussion, lasting approximately two hours, focused on the current political landscape and possible future strategies. When asked about the meeting, Gandhi refrained from providing a direct response.
The central question arising from this rendezvous is whether Kishor could be considering a formal alliance or collaboration with Congress. The timing is significant: Jan Suraaj’s performance in the recent Bihar assembly elections fell short of expectations, with the party failing to secure any seats, while Congress managed only six. Political analysts suggest that both parties, reflecting on their poor electoral showings, may be exploring new strategic options.
This is not the first instance of speculation linking Kishor with Congress. Around four years ago, reports suggested that he was invited by Sonia Gandhi to present his strategic vision for the party. Kishor reportedly spent nine hours detailing his proposals, with Rahul Gandhi present and in agreement with many of the suggestions. Ultimately, he declined the offer, citing the party’s reluctance to implement his plan and his desire to remain independent of any single political legacy or ideology.
The recent meeting with Priyanka Gandhi has reignited discussions about a potential political realignment in Bihar. Observers are now watching closely to see whether this encounter was a preliminary discussion or the first step towards a strategic alliance that could reshape the state’s political dynamics.
