Patna/Gopalganj: Authorities in Mirganj city launched a major anti-encroachment operation on Tuesday, using bulldozers to remove unauthorised structures, street vendors, and vehicles obstructing main roads and busy market areas.
Anand Mohan Gupta, SDPO of Hathua, said the campaign aimed to tackle severe traffic congestion affecting commuters travelling between Siwan and Gopalganj. Illegal constructions and roadside encroachments had previously caused long delays and inconvenience to passengers.
During the operation, vendors’ stalls, unauthorised building extensions, and parked vehicles were cleared, restoring free passage for vehicles. Gupta urged residents to voluntarily vacate public land, warning that failure to comply could result in fines or further administrative action.
The anti-encroachment drive is part of a broader effort by local authorities to improve road safety, traffic flow, and urban order in densely populated areas.
