The commission’s examination controller has urged candidates to regularly check the official BPSC website for updates, cautioning that only information published there should be considered authentic and that rumours should be disregarded.
The main examination, held between April 25 and 30, 2025 across 32 centres in Patna, saw 20,034 candidates appear, of whom 5,401 were successful. Each interview will carry 120 marks, with 10 to 20 candidates scheduled per day.

The recruitment drive aims to fill 2,035 vacancies. The final merit list will be based on a total of 1,020 marks, combining the main exam (900 marks) and interview (120 marks). Results will be prepared according to reservation categories, with higher main exam scores used to break any ties.
The selection process began with the preliminary examination on December 13, 2023 which attracted 4.83 lakh applicants. Of these, 3,28,990 candidates appeared across 912 centres. Following disruptions at the Bapu Examination Complex, the exam was partially re-conducted on January 4, 2024 for around 12,000 candidates, of whom 5,900 participated. The results of the preliminary exam were released on January 24, with 21,581 candidates qualifying for the main exam.
