PATNA – Amidst the fervor of patriotism, the Amrit Kalash Yatra, a state-level initiative under the Meri Mati-Mera Desh program, unfolded at Jagjivan Stadium near Danapur Railway Station in Patna. The inauguration ceremony was led by Giriraj Singh, the Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
As part of the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, the first phase of the Meri Maati, Mera Desh campaign began on August 9, 2023, encouraging homage to India’s valiant souls. This initiative symbolizes patriotism, unity, and social responsibility, emphasizing collective devotion to the motherland.
Implemented at various levels, including Panchayat/Village, Block, and Urban, the campaign engages citizens in activities such as erecting Shilaphalakam, planting Amrit Vatikas, tree plantations, valorizing heroes, and the Panch Pran ceremony.
The second phase, launched in September, encouraged participation in the Amrit Kalash Yatras across districts and villages. Soil collected in Amrit Kalashes during September was ceremonially brought to Delhi from October 28 to 30 to conclude the campaign. Diverse organizations and forces collected these symbolic vessels, embarking on a unified journey to New Delhi.
The grand finale aims to construct an Amrit Vatika near the National War Memorial in New Delhi, symbolizing unity in diversity and honoring the nation’s martyrs by incorporating soil from every state. This initiative serves to cherish our heritage, foster unity, fulfill our civic responsibilities, and honor the defenders of the nation.
The Amrit Kalash from every block of Bihar is ceremoniously dispatched to Delhi, carried by 1050 volunteers from the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan. Apart from Giriraj Singh, other dignitaries and officials graced the occasion, signifying collective support and participation in this patriotic endeavor.
