Patna: A 15-year-old student from Aurangabad was found dead at a girls’ hostel in Patna on January 6, prompting fresh concerns over the safety of female students in the city’s hostels. The girl, who was living at the Perfect Girls PG Hostel on Exhibition Road while pursuing her studies, was allegedly murdered, according to her family.
The victim’s family has filed a first information report (FIR) naming the hostel owner Musahid Reza, Mukarram Reza, warden Khushboo Kumari, the hostel in-charge, a friend, and several unidentified individuals. The FIR alleges that the murder was part of a premeditated conspiracy involving these individuals. It also states that the body was placed on a bed before the arrival of police and the girl’s parents. Authorities later transferred the body to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH).
The family has demanded a thorough investigation, citing video evidence and observations at the scene that convinced them of a coordinated plan to kill their daughter.
The incident comes amid ongoing investigations into the high-profile rape and murder of a NEET student in Patna, a case that has drawn nationwide attention and criticism over hostel safety. Opposition parties and local residents have raised urgent questions about the protection of female students, calling for stricter oversight of hostels in the city. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is currently probing both cases and the arrest of the accused.
