Patna: Bihar has taken a significant step towards strengthening its industrial base, allocating land and ready-to-use infrastructure to 25 companies in a bid to attract investment and generate employment. The state’s Industries Department has distributed 12.5 acres of industrial land along with plug-and-play sheds, enabling businesses to begin operations quickly with minimal delays.
The decision was approved at a meeting of the Project Clearance Committee of the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) and the Infrastructure Development Authority. Chaired by industries secretary and BIADA director Kundan Kumar, the panel cleared proposals from 25 eligible applicants seeking to establish industrial units across several districts.
Officials estimate that the approved projects will bring in investments of Rs 168.52 crore and create at least 1,194 direct jobs. Additional indirect employment is also expected through supply chains, logistics and support services. The government says the ready-built facilities will help companies reduce set-up time and operational costs, making the state more attractive to investors.
The units span a range of sectors, including IT and IT-enabled services, food processing, textiles, plastics and general manufacturing. Among the companies receiving land are Chemplast Products and Industries, AD Biomass Energy Private Limited, RedCyber Solutions Private Limited and Rishabh Multigrains Private Limited.
Industrial plots and sheds have been allotted in districts such as Patna, Purnia, Siwan, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Bhojpur, Buxar, Madhubani, Nawada, Saharsa and West Champaran. Authorities believe the initiative will promote balanced regional growth, strengthen local economies and position Bihar as an emerging industrial hub in eastern India.
