Patna: Patna Women’s College has transformed into a hub of colour, music and celebration as its annual techno-cultural festival, Virasat 2025-26, unfolds this week. The three-day event began on Thursday with students arriving in sarees and festive attire, lending a traditional elegance to the campus while setting the tone for a programme that blends heritage with contemporary youth culture.
Organised every year, the festival brings together a mix of dance, music, technical competitions and cultural showcases. This year’s opening day was marked by high energy and anticipation, with students participating in events and gathering for live performances. The highlight was a concert by Ritika Raj, an alumna of the college and former Indian Idol contestant, whose appearance drew loud cheers from the crowd as students sang and danced along.
For many, the festival carries emotional significance beyond entertainment. Student, said the event is something they look forward to each year. Another student, described Raj’s return to perform at her alma mater as a proud moment for the college community. A Final-year student, said the celebrations were bittersweet, adding that it was their last year on campus and they wanted to “enjoy every moment because this time will not come back”.
The schedule reflects the festival’s diverse spirit. The first day featured the popular Miss PWC contest where student from Code 23 was crowned Miss PWC for this year, drawing loud cheers from the audience. The second day includes events such as Tech Cure, Raag Aalap, Nrityanjali, ramp walk competitions and fusion dance performances. The final day will host programmes including Tech Culture, Solo Saga, Snapchar and Desaj Dhun, highlighting both modern and traditional art forms.
The celebrations will culminate in a night concert by Bollywood singer Amit Mishra. Inter-college competitions, including a hackathon, reel-making contest, debate, Western group dance and solo classical dance events, are also planned, with cash prizes for top performers. Together, the events aim to create a platform where creativity, talent and lasting memories come together for students across the region.
