Patna: Bihar is preparing for a major change in the field of technical education with the near completion of the Bihar Engineering University building in Patna. Located in the Mithapur area of the capital, the modern campus is almost ready, and officials have confirmed that the work will be fully completed by April. The finishing touches are currently being done, and the building will soon be ready to welcome students, teachers, and administrative staff. This project is being seen as a new beginning for engineering education in the state.
The university campus has been built on around five acres of land at a total cost of Rs 66.92 crore. It is a large, multi-storey building designed with modern needs in mind. The campus will act as the main centre for engineering education in Bihar and will help manage and guide engineering colleges across the state. With better facilities and proper administration, the university is expected to improve the quality of education and bring more transparency to the system.
Each floor of the building has been carefully planned. The ground floor will have the dean’s office, registrar’s office, finance section, cafeteria, store room, restrooms, and a large entry hall. The first floor will include a meeting hall, the vice-chancellor’s office, and an evaluation centre where exams and records will be managed. These spaces will help in smooth day-to-day functioning of the university.
The second floor will have seven office rooms, another evaluation centre, six store rooms, and four scanning rooms. The third floor will contain five record rooms along with more store and scanning rooms. On the fourth floor, there will be another evaluation centre, two large halls, a guest house, and a caretaker’s living area.
According to Kumar Ravi, Secretary of the Building Construction Department, the new university will strengthen Bihar’s technical education system and provide a solid platform for future engineers. The campus is expected to become a symbol of progress and opportunity for students across the state.
