Patna: Nitin Nabin, newly appointed national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), will make his first visit to Patna in his new role on February 9 and 10, a move seen as a key step in consolidating the party’s organisational base in Bihar.
The two-day tour has been preceded by extensive preparations by the state BJP, with senior leaders describing it as an opportunity to inject fresh energy and direction into the party. Minister Dilip Jaiswal said the visit marks “an important chapter in the history of the BJP” and will provide renewed guidance for party workers at the grassroots level.
Direct engagement with booth-level workers
The highlight of the visit will be a gathering at Bapu Auditorium on February 9, where more than 10,000 booth-level workers are expected to attend. Nabin will interact directly with this core segment of the party, which BJP leaders describe as the “backbone” of its organisation. The session is intended to reinforce responsibilities and prepare workers for upcoming political challenges, according to Jaiswal.
Strengthening ideological connections
As part of his itinerary, Nabin will also pay homage at the residence of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan, signalling the party’s ongoing engagement with its ideological and democratic roots. Leaders said the visit reflects a commitment to linking contemporary organisational work with the party’s broader philosophical foundations.
Legislative Assembly visit and public outreach
On February 10, Nabin will visit the Bihar Legislative Assembly for the first time since becoming national president, where BJP MLAs are expected to welcome and felicitate him. The visit is being interpreted as a demonstration of party unity and confidence in central leadership.
Later that day, Nabin will travel to Bankipur to meet with local workers and residents, gathering feedback on organisational and constituency-level concerns before returning to Delhi.
