Gayaji: With Holi and Eid coming soon, thousands of migrant workers from Bihar are getting ready to travel back to their villages to celebrate with their families. Every year, this time brings heavy crowds at railway stations and bus stands. Many people struggle to get train tickets, and private buses charge very high fares. To solve this problem, the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) has started special inter-state bus services from Gayaji to Delhi, Gurugram and Ambala.
These special buses will run from 23 February to 23 March, which is the busiest travel time for festival holidays. A total of 17 buses will leave from the Gayaji bus stand every day for the three cities. The bus to Delhi will depart at 4 pm and reach at 1 pm the next day. The bus to Ambala will leave at 10 am and arrive at 12 pm the next day, while the Gurugram bus will start at 9 am and reach by 5 am the following morning.
The buses will be well-equipped to make long journeys comfortable. Both AC and non-AC buses will be available. There will also be sleeper buses for passengers who want to rest during the night journey. BSRTC has promised clean buses, safe seating, and better travel facilities so that passengers can travel without stress.
The ticket prices have been kept affordable. A non-AC ticket to Delhi will cost Rs 1046, an AC seat will cost Rs 1158, and an AC sleeper berth will cost Rs 1747. For Ambala, the AC fare is Rs 1294 and the sleeper fare is Rs 1953. For Gurugram, the non-AC fare is Rs 1224, the AC fare is Rs 1356, and the AC sleeper fare is Rs 2046.
During Holi and Eid, trains are usually overcrowded and tickets are hard to get. These special buses will give people a safe, timely, and cheaper way to travel home. Ashish Kumar, Regional Manager of the Gayaji depot, said that the number of buses will be increased if more passengers need to travel. For many workers living far from home, this service brings comfort, hope, and a smooth journey back to their loved ones.
