Patna: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released a detailed calendar for its upcoming recruitment examinations, giving much-needed clarity to thousands of young people preparing for government jobs. The announcement was made in Patna and includes exam dates for many important posts such as engineers, teachers, and administrative officers. After a long time of uncertainty, candidates now finally have a proper roadmap to plan their studies. The commission also said that all exams will be conducted in a single phase and only in written form.
One of the biggest highlights in the calendar is the School Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4). This exam will be held from September 22 to September 27, 2026, and will fill 46,595 teaching posts, making it the largest teacher recruitment in Bihar so far. The result is expected in November 2026. Along with this, the Special Teacher Recruitment Exam for 7,279 posts is scheduled for January 2026, and its result will be declared in February 2026. These exams are expected to improve the quality of education in the state by filling long-pending vacancies.
The calendar also includes several technical and administrative posts. The Combined Assistant Engineer Examination for 1,040 posts will be conducted from July 17 to July 19, 2025. Earlier, the Assistant Engineer (Civil/Mechanical) exam for 118 posts was held in December 2024, and its result was declared on August 7, 2025. For education officers, the Assistant Education Development Officer (AEDO) exam for 935 posts will be held in April 2026, and the result is likely to come in June 2026.
Urban planning and sanitation jobs are also part of the schedule. The Assistant Town Planner exam for 36 posts will be held on May 9, 2026, with results in June. The Assistant Public Sanitation and Waste Management Officer exam is set for April 23, 2026, for 60 posts, though the result date has not yet been announced. However, the commission has said that the exams for Assistant Revenue and Accounts Officer and Assistant Urban Welfare and Registration Officer (285 posts each) have been postponed due to departmental reasons.
Overall, this detailed calendar has given job seekers a clear path to prepare for their future. With fixed dates and transparent planning, BPSC’s move is being welcomed by candidates across Bihar. Many now feel more confident and motivated, as they can organise their studies better and work towards their dream of a government job.
