Patna: The Bihar Pavilion has emerged as a key attraction for investors at the India AI Impact Summit and Expo 2026, positioning the state as an emerging technology and innovation destination. The summit offered the Government of Bihar an opportunity to present its artificial intelligence-driven policies, startup ecosystem and investment prospects to national and international stakeholders.
Officials said investors demonstrated strong interest in Bihar’s expanding digital infrastructure, skill development initiatives and rapidly growing technology sector. With improving data centre capacity, availability of skilled manpower and comparatively lower operational costs, the state is increasingly being viewed as a favourable location for technology companies.
Union minister highlights technology-led growth
Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti Dr Raj Bhushan Choudhary visited the pavilion and interacted with representatives from startups and technology firms. During his visit, he discussed investment possibilities and emphasised the role of AI in reshaping Bihar’s development trajectory.
He said the state is moving beyond traditional growth models by adopting technology-led strategies. According to the minister, artificial intelligence can enhance efficiency in water management, agriculture and urban services while creating a supportive environment for investors. He also noted that government measures such as infrastructure support, single-window clearance and policy incentives are designed to ensure transparency and ease of doing business.
Companies explore AI-based projects in Bihar
The summit saw multiple national and global companies express interest in establishing AI-focused projects across sectors including agri-tech, health-tech, education technology and smart water management. Presentations and live demonstrations at the pavilion received positive responses, reinforcing investor confidence.
Mahesh Kumar, chief executive and founder of Tiger Analytics, said the company is exploring plans to set up a Centre of Excellence in Bihar. He described the proposal as potentially transformative for local youth by offering industry-oriented training in artificial intelligence and data analytics and enabling students to develop globally competitive skills.
Ajay Yadav, secretary in Bihar’s Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department, said the state’s growing startup ecosystem and large youth population provide a strong base for technological expansion. He added that integrating AI into administrative processes could improve transparency and efficiency, further strengthening investor trust.
Employment and economic transformation in focus
Manoj Kumar Singh, chair and managing director of Bihar’s Energy Department, said investments in AI and emerging technologies are expected to generate significant employment opportunities. Skill development programmes and partnerships with technical institutions are being planned to equip local youth with industry-relevant expertise.
The state’s active participation in the summit reflects its broader strategy to drive economic transformation through innovation and technology. Bihar’s presentation delivered a clear message to investors that it aims to become one of India’s leading AI-driven destinations in the coming years, leveraging its demographic advantage and policy support to accelerate growth.
