Patna: Patna Women’s College hosted an exclusive solo theatre performance titled “Maa Mujhe Tagore Bana De”, organised by the Department of English in collaboration with Dakhal Theatre Society, the cultural theatre group at the college. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members.
The play was performed by theatre artist Lucky Gupta, who attended the programme as the resource person. Known for his expressive storytelling and powerful stage presence, Gupta delivered a compelling performance that kept the audience engaged throughout the show.
Through the format of solo theatre, the play explored themes of creativity, aspiration and the influence of great literary figures, particularly Rabindranath Tagore. The narrative also reflected on the relationship between artistic ambition and societal expectations, encouraging the audience to reflect on the struggles and motivations behind artistic pursuits.
The performance gave students a valuable opportunity to observe the nuances of theatrical expression and the art of solo performance. Gupta’s emotive acting and dynamic portrayal of multiple characters created a strong impact and offered insights into the craft of theatre.
The event was coordinated by Anisha Singh, coordinator of Dakhal Theatre Society, while Soumya Vartika, joint general secretary of the Student Council 2025–2026, moderated the programme.
