Patna: The second day of Prakrida 2026, the annual sports festival hosted at the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Patna, saw a range of sporting competitions held across the campus, drawing enthusiastic participation from students and teams representing various institutions.
Throughout the day, the campus witnessed an energetic atmosphere as athletes competed in events including chess, badminton, cricket, women’s cricket, women’s football, carrom, table tennis and volleyball. Several semifinal matches were also held, with teams battling for places in the finals while spectators gathered in large numbers to support the players.

In the men’s cricket tournament, teams from the CIMAGE Group of Institutions and the Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM), Kolkata progressed to the final after winning their respective semifinal matches. The two teams are now set to face each other in the title clash.

Meanwhile, in the women’s volleyball competition, teams from BIT Patna and Patna Women’s College secured places in the final following strong performances during the day’s matches.
Organisers said the participation of women athletes across events such as women’s cricket, women’s football and women’s volleyball highlighted the festival’s broader message of promoting women’s empowerment through sports.

Prakrida 2026 is scheduled to conclude on Sunday evening with a valedictory ceremony at 5:30pm at the BIT Patna auditorium, where winners of the various competitions will be honoured, bringing the four-day sports festival to a close.
