Patna: Patna’s iconic Mahavir Temple will open its gates at 2:00 AM on the night of March 26 for Ram Navami celebrations, with the early morning Jagran Aarti for Lord Hanuman scheduled to begin shortly after at 2:15 AM. Devotees will then be able to continue Darshan (viewing of the deity) and prayers uninterrupted until the night Aarti on March 27 , with authorities expecting large crowds throughout the day.
In preparation for the festival, district officials—including Patna District Magistrate Dr Thiyagarajan SM and Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K. Sharma—personally inspected the temple and reviewed arrangements with management. Security, sanitation, and crowd management measures have been reinforced to ensure the safety and comfort of devotees.

Special provisions have been made to protect visitors from the sun. Shaded canopies, supported by bamboo and iron barricades, will stretch from Veer Kunwar Singh Park to the temple entrance. Lighting has also been installed along the route to assist devotees arriving in the early hours.
Temple authorities have announced that 18,000 kilograms of Naivedyam (sacred offerings) will be prepared for the festival. Rather than inside the temple, approximately 15 counters will be set up outside and along the pathways, alongside over 30 private stalls selling laddoos and other sweets.
Security arrangements include deployment of government personnel alongside more than 100 private security staff. Medical facilities, ambulances, drinking water, refreshments, and mobile toilets will be available throughout the day. LED screens outside the temple complex will allow those at a distance to witness Live Darshan.
With these preparations, the Mahavir Temple is set to host one of Patna’s largest religious gatherings of the year, ensuring devotees can participate in Ram Navami festivities safely and comfortably.
