City-wise price trends
Among major cities, Patna recorded the lowest prices, with gold at Rs 1,55,700 per 10 grams and silver at Rs 2,49,930 per kg.
By contrast, Bhopal and Indore were the most expensive markets on the day, where gold was priced at Rs 1,55,950 per 10 grams and silver at Rs 2,50,330 per kg.
Other cities such as Jaipur, Kanpur, and Lucknow reported marginal variations, reflecting broader market trends.
Variation across gold purity
Prices also differed by purity levels. In Patna, 22-carat gold was priced at around Rs 1,42,725 per 10 grams, while 18-carat gold stood at approximately Rs 1,16,775. Similar patterns were observed across other cities, with slight variations depending on local demand and charges.
Market watchers attributed the decline to profit booking after the previous session’s rally, with both metals showing volatility in early trading.
