Patna: Residents of Bihar will no longer have to postpone property registrations due to holidays, after the state government announced that registry offices will remain open on March 26, March 29, and March 31, 2026.
The decision aims to address the difficulties faced by citizens, particularly those in the private sector, who often struggle to balance work commitments with essential property-related tasks. Government sources confirmed that employees and computer operators at registration offices have been instructed to report on these dates to ensure uninterrupted services.
On March 26 and 31, offices will remain operational despite the official holidays, while March 29, a Sunday, will see all property registration work conducted as usual. Officials from the Department of Prohibition, Excise, and Registration highlighted that this step is intended to make property registration more accessible, especially for those returning from out of town or unable to take leave from their regular employment.
With this move, the government hopes to streamline registration processes and reduce delays, allowing citizens to complete land and flat registrations without disrupting their professional schedules.
