Purnia: A student from Bihar’s Purnia district has earned national recognition after being selected for a prestigious youth initiative that will allow him to directly interact with Narendra Modi. Ritesh Kumar, a resident of Koshi Colony, has secured a place in the final round of the ‘My Bharat Budget Quest 2026’, a programme aimed at involving young people in discussions around India’s development and budget planning. His selection comes after a highly competitive process that saw participation from more than 1.2 million young people across the country.

Ritesh is currently pursuing a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the Central University of Punjab and has been actively involved in academic and social activities. His achievement has brought pride to his hometown as well as to the wider academic community in Bihar. In the past, he has also had the opportunity to visit the Parliament House, where he represented Bihar in youth-related activities, further strengthening his profile as an engaged and motivated student.

As part of the next stage, Ritesh and other selected participants from Bihar have been asked to reach Patna on the morning of April 12. From there, they will join a virtual national-level dialogue where they will present their ideas and opinions on the country’s budget and development plans. The interaction will take place over two days and is expected to give young participants a platform to share their perspectives directly with the Prime Minister.

Officials from the My Yuva Bharat programme have congratulated Ritesh and others selected for this opportunity. They said such initiatives help encourage youth participation in policymaking and inspire more young people to contribute to the nation’s future. Ritesh’s selection is being seen as an example of how students from smaller towns can achieve recognition at the national level through hard work and dedication.
