Patna: In a significant political development, Samrat Choudhary is set to take oath as the new chief minister of Bihar on Wednesday, marking what many see as a historic moment for the state. Just hours before the swearing-in ceremony, Choudhary visited a Hanuman temple in Rajvanshi Nagar, located in the state capital Patna. There, he offered prayers and sought blessings for the peace, prosperity and overall development of Bihar, following a long-standing tradition observed by many leaders before assuming high office.
The atmosphere at the temple turned lively as soon as Choudhary arrived. Supporters and local residents gathered in large numbers, raising slogans and expressing enthusiasm about his appointment. Chants filled the air as he performed rituals and spent a few moments in meditation. During his visit, Choudhary also conveyed his commitment to serving the people and ensuring better governance, signalling the tone of his leadership ahead of formally taking charge.
After completing the puja, Choudhary left for the Lok Bhawan, where the oath-taking ceremony has been organised. The governor is expected to administer the oath of office and secrecy in the presence of senior leaders, Members of the Legislative Assembly, Members of Parliament and other dignitaries. Tight security arrangements have been put in place across the venue, with authorities closely monitoring the situation to ensure the ceremony proceeds smoothly.
Choudhary’s appointment is being seen as an important shift in Bihar’s political landscape, especially with a leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party assuming the top post. As he prepares to take on the responsibility, expectations are high among the public. Key challenges ahead include speeding up development work, improving law and order, and meeting the aspirations of the people. Speaking ahead of the ceremony, Choudhary expressed gratitude to the citizens of Bihar and said he would work with honesty and dedication, guided by the principle of inclusive growth for all.
