Patna: Tej Pratap Yadav, national president of the Jan Shakti Janata Dal and eldest son of Lalu Prasad, celebrated his birthday on Thursday at his residence on Harding Road in Patna, hosting family members, party leaders and supporters.
Among those present was Lalu Prasad, who joined the celebrations later in the evening. The occasion also saw the participation of party workers and invited political figures, as Yadav cut a cake alongside his father and associates.
During the event, Yadav extended his congratulations to Bihar’s chief minister, Samrat Choudhary, describing him as a young leader capable of charting a new direction for the state. He said he had earlier predicted Choudhary’s rise to the post and expressed hope that the new government would deliver on governance and development.
Yadav called on the chief minister to address key challenges such as unemployment and inflation, while also ensuring continuity in developmental work initiated under former chief minister Nitish Kumar.
At the same time, he voiced concerns over the law and order situation in Bihar, suggesting that the performance of the new government would be closely watched in the coming months. He indicated that his party would assess the administration’s functioning before deciding its future course of action.
He also stressed the importance of women’s safety, saying the government’s response on this front would be a key measure of its effectiveness.
The event, while celebratory in nature, doubled as a political मंच, with Yadav using the occasion to articulate expectations from the new leadership and signal his party’s stance on governance issues in the state.
