Voice-Over Training Takes Centre Stage at Patna Women’s College

Patna: Patna Women’s College (PWC) hosted a dynamic Voice-Over Training Workshop on September 2, featuring Soma Chakraborty, the eminent classical dancer and stage artist from Bihar. Chakraborty, who also serves as a lecturer at Bharatiya Nritya Kala Academy, brought a wealth of experience from her work with All India Radio and Doordarshan to the session.
The workshop offered an in-depth exploration of voice training, modulation, and anchoring techniques. Chakraborty illuminated the intricacies of professional voice-over artistry, stressing the importance of mastering voice control for success in broadcasting and media careers. Her practical advice aimed at equipping students with the skills needed to excel in voice-over roles.
Attended by students from the 3rd and 5th semesters, as well as those pursuing a PG Diploma in Mass Communication, the event also included a lively Q&A session. Chakraborty engaged with the students in an interview conducted by 5th-semester students, providing insights into her career and achievements.
The workshop was supported by Head of the Department Roma, and faculty members Dr. Aparajita Pathak, Ajay Jha, and Gaurav Aranya. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Pathak, who commended Chakraborty for her valuable contributions to the students’ professional development.
