Patna: Sunil Kumar Tiwari has been elected president of the Bihar Administrative Service Association (BASA) following a unanimous decision at the organisation’s general body meeting held in Patna on Sunday.
Tiwari, a member of the 42nd batch and currently posted in the general administration department, takes charge at a time when the association is emphasising ethical governance and administrative cohesion.
Unopposed Election Of New Executive
The election of the new executive committee was completed without contest, reflecting internal consensus within the association.
Alongside Tiwari, the following office bearers were elected:
- Vice president: Kumar Ravindra
- General secretary: Qayyum Ansari
- Joint secretary: Dilip Kumar Dhwaj
The newly elected team pledged to uphold unity within BASA and work collectively to strengthen the role of administrative officers in governance.
Emphasis On Values And Responsibility
Prior to his election, Sunil Kumar Tiwari — who served as general secretary — had urged officers to prioritise “commitment over comfort” and “compassion over command”, stressing the importance of accountability and public service.
Meeting Attended By Senior Officials
The meeting was attended by Bihar’s chief secretary Pratyaya Amrit, who highlighted the need for administrative officers to adapt to evolving governance challenges, including the growing role of technology.
Senior members and former office bearers of BASA also participated, offering guidance and emphasising the importance of unity within the cadre.
Officials said the leadership transition is expected to continue the association’s focus on professional integrity and administrative collaboration.
