RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Returns to Patna After Medical Checkup in Singapore
Patna: RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav returned to Patna on Monday evening following a medical checkup in Singapore. He was accompanied by his wife, Rabri Devi, and daughter, Misa Bharti. This marks his first visit to Singapore since undergoing a kidney transplant last year. During his stay, he was hosted by his daughter, Rohini Acharya, who had donated her kidney for the transplant.
Lalu Prasad’s health has shown significant improvement over the past year. However, doctors have now advised him to maintain dietary restrictions, particularly abstaining from meat, fish, and certain other foods to safeguard his kidney health. They also recommended that he limit his water intake and keep his diabetes under control by consuming sweets in moderation.
Lalu Prasad underwent a kidney transplant on 5 December 2022 at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, with his daughter Rohini Acharya serving as the donor. Following the successful procedure, he returned to Patna on 11 February 2023.
More recently, Lalu Prasad traveled to Delhi from Patna on 17 August before departing for Singapore on 21 August with Rabri Devi for his medical review. Upon his arrival in Patna today, he declined to speak to the media and headed directly to his residence.
