Patna: Janata Dal (United) leader Nishant Kumar met party spokespersons at the organisation’s state office in Patna on Wednesday, using the gathering to set out his political priorities and call for a unified push to expand the party’s development agenda.
Addressing party representatives, Kumar said their central objective should be to realise the vision of Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar. “We must work together to fulfil his dreams,” he said, urging members to ensure that government initiatives reach “every single citizen” while accelerating the completion of pending projects.
Kumar emphasised the need for inclusive development, arguing that the party should continue efforts to uplift all sections of society. He said the approach taken under Nitish Kumar’s leadership – marked by welfare schemes aimed at marginalised communities – should guide future political work, with a focus on self-reliance and equal opportunity.
Referencing socialist thinker Ram Manohar Lohia, Kumar invoked the idea of “Sapt Kranti” (Seven Revolutions), highlighting Lohia’s emphasis on social equality and gender justice. He called on party members to work towards a society free from discrimination.
Among those present at the meeting were legislative council chief whip Sanjay Kumar, also known as Gandhi Ji, senior spokesperson and MLC Neeraj Kumar, and party spokespersons including Nihora Prasad Yadav, Amardeep, Arvind Nishad, Anjum Ara, Naval Sharma, Himraj Ram, Parimal Kumar, Anupriya Yadav, Jitendra Kumar, Manish Yadav, Ajit Patel and Vasudev Kushwaha.
