Patna: A new alumni-led initiative aimed at promoting academic excellence and mentorship was launched at St Michael’s High School, Patna, where the school’s alumni association honoured top-performing Class X students during a morning assembly.
The programme, introduced by the St Michael’s Alumni Association (SMAA), marks the beginning of its presidential initiative for the 2026–2028 term, centred on the theme “Transforming Gratitude into Legacy”.
Toppers Felicitated
Four students were recognised for their academic achievements, receiving certificates of excellence and gold medals. The awardees were Abhishek Mishra (98.2%), Ekansh Shrisay (97.2%), Aishwarya Anmol (97%) and Divyansh Raj (97%).
Officials said the initiative seeks to acknowledge not only academic success but also the discipline and perseverance behind it.
Focus On Values And Mentorship
Addressing the gathering, SMAA president Vikas Shankar described the school as a “value system” that shapes character and integrity.
He said the recognition was intended to celebrate the students’ journey and encouraged them to remain grounded while pursuing future success.
Strengthening Alumni Connect
School principal A. Christu Savarirajan welcomed the initiative, saying such efforts help strengthen ties between alumni and the institution.
He emphasised that success should be measured not only by academic achievement but also by humility, character and service to society.

Encouraging Wider Impact
SMAA president-elect Manish Mandal said the initiative contributes to nation-building by motivating students to strive for excellence.
Vice-president Rohit Singh added that recognising individual achievement can inspire many others within the student community.
Alumni Team Behind Initiative
The programme was organised by the SMAA team, including secretary Manas Ranjan, joint secretary Mohit Kumar, treasurer Sudhanshu and member Sunny Agrawal.
Organisers said the initiative will continue with further activities aimed at mentoring students and strengthening alumni engagement with the school.
