Patna: Sonu Sood has invited Bihar legislator Anant Singh to visit Mumbai during a video call that has since circulated widely on social media, drawing renewed attention to the controversial politician.
In the clip, Sood can be heard warmly urging Singh, a member of the Janata Dal (United) and MLA from Mokama, to “come and visit us in Mumbai”. Singh responds without hesitation: “I will come.” The actor adds that he would also like to visit Singh’s home to eat litti chokha, a traditional Bihari dish, to which Singh readily agrees.
The exchange, though brief, has generated significant online engagement, with users commenting on Singh’s relaxed demeanour and the unexpected nature of the interaction.
This is not the first time Sood has spoken about Singh. In an earlier podcast appearance, the actor described the MLA as possessing a “distinct personality”, noting that he found Singh’s character compelling while working on film scripts. Sood suggested that Singh’s candid public persona made him particularly striking.
During the same discussion, Sood referred to a past interview in which Singh responded to a question about rising crime in Bihar with a blunt remark about the limits of state control over “unorganised” acts of violence. According to Sood, it was this unfiltered and direct style that set Singh apart from other political figures.
The resurfaced video call has once again placed Singh in the public eye, highlighting both his enduring notoriety and his unlikely connections beyond politics
