Patna: An Entrepreneurship Awareness and Special Vendor Development Programme (EA & SVDP) will be held on April 28 at the Technology Centre in Bihta, Patna under the National SC-ST Hub (NSSH), aimed at strengthening business opportunities for entrepreneurs from marginalised communities.
The event will be inaugurated by Union MSME minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and Bihar chief minister Samrat Choudhary, officials said.
Focus On Public Procurement And MSME Schemes
The programme is part of the NSSH initiative launched in 2016 to promote participation of SC/ST-owned micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in public procurement.
The scheme seeks to ensure that government ministries, departments and central public sector enterprises meet the mandated target of procuring at least 4% of goods and services from SC/ST enterprises.
Training And Awareness Sessions
Participants will receive information on various schemes of the Ministry of MSME, along with sessions on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) platform and financial assistance provided by Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).
Officials said the programme will include presentations and interactive discussions to help entrepreneurs understand procurement processes, vendor registration and tender participation.

Strengthening Market Access
The initiative aims to build capacity among SC/ST entrepreneurs, improve institutional linkages and expand access to markets by connecting them with public sector buyers.
Participants will also be guided on quality standards and compliance requirements needed to compete in government procurement.
Nationwide Outreach
Officials said around 350 such programmes are planned across the country during the current financial year to raise awareness about MSME schemes and encourage wider participation.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to promote inclusive economic growth and enhance the role of underrepresented communities in India’s business ecosystem.
Authorities said the programme aligns with the long-term vision of achieving inclusive development under the “Viksit Bharat 2047” framework.
