Patna: The Bihar government has transferred senior bureaucrat C.K. Anil from the Revenue Department amid an ongoing strike by revenue and circle officers.
Anil, who had been serving as principal secretary in the department and was previously associated with Vijay Sinha, has now been posted as a consultant to the Bihar State Planning Board until further orders. Department’s secretary Jai Singh will take complete charge of the department till further orders.
The transfer was notified by the General Administration Department.
Suspensions Revoked
The development follows the government’s earlier decision to revoke the suspension of more than 200 Revenue Department employees, which had been ordered during the previous administrative phase.
Those employees have since been directed to resume duties.
Move Linked To Ongoing Strike
Officials said the reshuffle comes against the backdrop of a continuing strike by revenue officers and circle officers, which had led to an administrative impasse in the department.
The decision to remove Anil is being viewed as an attempt to address the situation and ease mounting pressure on the administration.
Wider Administrative Changes
The notification also includes transfers of several Bihar Administrative Service officers and the posting of new district settlement officers across multiple districts.
Fresh postings have been made in Aurangabad, Jehanabad, Begusarai, Supaul, Vaishali, Purnia, Jamui and Saran.
Officials including Purushottam, Kiran Singh, Gulshan Ain, Buddha Prakash, Payal Priya, Vinod Kumar Tiwari, Sanjay Kumar Rai and Akhilesh Kumar have been assigned to these districts.
