Patna: Bihar industrial department has taken a big step towards improving its industrial growth with the opening of a new Technology Centre in Bihta, near Patna. The centre was jointly inaugurated by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi. Officials said the main aim of this centre is to support industries, create jobs, and help young people gain modern technical skills.
The Technology Centre has been set up as a place where people can learn advanced manufacturing and technical work. It will also help small and medium businesses, known as MSMEs, to improve their production and grow their work. Along with the main centre in Bihta, extension centres have also been opened in Muzaffarpur, Rohtas, Darbhanga, and Munger so that people in different parts of Bihar can benefit from training and facilities.
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said the state is entering a new phase of industrial development. He said the government wants young people to become job creators instead of only job seekers. He also said the new centre is an important part of the “Make in Bihar” vision, which focuses on increasing local production and attracting investment in the state.
Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said the centre will help bridge the gap between skills and industry needs. He said it will prepare youth and entrepreneurs for both national and global markets. According to him, this effort is also connected to the larger goal of making India self-reliant through better local production and skill development.
The event also included several government welfare programmes. Toolkits were given to beneficiaries under schemes like PM Vishwakarma Yojana and Gramodyog Vikas Yojana. Financial support was also provided to small entrepreneurs under PMEGP, while certificates were distributed under the SC/ST Hub scheme to support businesses from marginalised communities.
Many senior officials and public representatives attended the event, showing strong support for the initiative. With the launch of this Technology Centre and related programmes, the Bihar government hopes to strengthen industries, improve skills, and create more employment opportunities across the state.
