IIM Bodh Gaya Concludes Three-Day Management Development Programme for Planning and Development Officials
Bodh Gaya: IIM Bodh Gaya successfully concluded a three-day Management Development Programme (MDP) designed for district and state-level officials from the Planning and Development Department of the Government of Bihar. The programme aimed at enhancing the participants’ planning and project management skills, vital for Bihar’s socio-economic development.
The programme, which ended with a valedictory session on September 13, 2024, was attended by 23 officials, including Regional Planning Officers, District Planning Officers, Assistant Directors, and Assistant Planning Officers. These participants represented various regions of Bihar, including Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Kosi, Magadh, Munger, Patna, Purnea, Saran, and Tirhut, with their roles focused on implementing the state’s Five-Year Plans and other development projects.
The MDP covered a range of essential topics, such as Vision, Mission, and People Alignment, Stakeholder Dynamics, Interpersonal Skills, Team Building, Mindfulness, Project Management, Financial Monitoring, and Data Analytics. It also emphasized the importance of managing social media and department reputation, key aspects in today’s governance landscape.
According to Dr. Vinita S. Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, the institute takes pride in offering management training to state officials, aiming to strengthen their leadership and strategic planning capabilities. The collaboration reflects IIM Bodh Gaya’s commitment to supporting the growth and development of Bihar through professional education.
The Planning and Development Department plays a critical role in formulating plans and policies for infrastructure and regional development. The department is responsible for the creation of Bihar’s long-term plans, including the 15-Year Vision, 7-Year Strategy, and 3-Year Work Plan, ensuring the alignment of developmental schemes across urban and rural areas.
IIM Bodh Gaya continues to provide leadership and management training to several Bihar government departments, contributing to the state’s development initiatives.
