IIT Patna inks Pact with University of Patras to boost research collaboration
Patna: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Patras, Greece, in a virtual ceremony aimed at strengthening educational, scientific, and research cooperation between the two institutions.
The agreement was formalised by Professor T.N. Singh, Director of IIT Patna, and Professor Christos Bouras, Rector of the University of Patras. The signing ceremony saw the participation of key faculty members from both institutions, including Professor A.K. Thakur, Dean of Academics and Administration; Dr. Anup Keshari, Associate Dean of R&D; and Professor Thanasis Triantafillou, alongside other distinguished guests.
The collaboration between IIT Patna and the University of Patras will focus on a range of initiatives, including the development of new academic programs, joint postgraduate degrees, and collaboration between research groups and laboratories from both institutions. The agreement will also facilitate joint research activities, knowledge transfer, and exchange programs for faculty and students, aimed at fostering scientific research and teaching.
Professor T.N. Singh highlighted the cultural significance of the partnership, stating: “This collaboration symbolises the coming together of two ancient cultures and civilizations, enhancing mutual support and complementarity. We are confident that this partnership will contribute to impactful research on a global scale.”
The MoU is expected to open up new avenues for innovative research and enhance academic offerings for both institutions, benefiting students and faculty.
